A companion asked the Prophet of God what is the right of a wife over her 
husband?’  He said, “That you feed her when you eat and clothe her when you 
clothe yourself and do not strike her face.  Do not malign her and do not keep 
apart from her, except in the house.”

Allaah’s Messenger said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for 
a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle 
of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in 
the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good.

Narrated Abu Darda’ (RadiyAllaahu ‘anhu): The Prophet (SallAllaahu ‘alayhi 
wasallam) said: “There is nothing heavier than good character put in the scale 
of a believer on the Day of Resurrection.”
