Because Wahhabism is considered a traditionalism, and because it is the source of the religiopolitical legitimacy of the Saudi oil kingdom, the Saudi monarchy can be said to be traditional (see note 35). It is certainly not fundamentalist. (Wahhabism stems from the thought of Ibn Abd al-Wahhab, 1703-1797.)
